VIBOMETER

2026-07-04 · Cool-S Technologies

We ran Vibometer on Vibometer. It read 40.

Vibometer scores how ready an app is to be discovered: findable, credible, shareable, positioned, moving, and passing the vibe check. Today we pointed the meter at vibometer.com itself. The needle stopped at 40.

That's the “off” zone. The tool that lectures you about Open Graph cards had no Open Graph cards. No sitemap. No robots.txt. No favicon. No changelog, no blog, no social links, zero share mechanics. The cobbler's children, barefoot on launch day.

What the meter caught

  • Sitemap & robots.txt: 0/5. Crawlers were on their own. Fixed: both ship from the app router now, with real lastmod dates.
  • Social share cards: 0/8. Pasting vibometer.com into a chat rendered as a bare link. Fixed: OG title, description, image (the meter itself), twitter card.
  • Share mechanics: 0/5. We ask you to share your score and offered no way to share anything. Fixed, and we shipped embeddable SVG score badges for READMEs while we were in there.
  • Build-in-public footprint: 0/7. No changelog, no blog, no links to the builder. Now there's a changelog, this blog, and a Cool-S Technologies link in the footer.
  • Favicon: missing. The browser-default globe, on a product that docks you a point for the browser-default globe.

What we can't fix (and won't fake)

Two signals are staying red, and that's the honest cost of being one day old:

  • Domain age: 1/5. vibometer.com was registered today. The meter's own fix-it text says it best: nothing to fix, only time.
  • Reviews & ratings: 0/4. We have no third-party reviews yet, so we show none. Fabricated aggregateRating markup is exactly the kind of thing a credibility meter should catch. We're not going to be our own first cautionary tale.

That asymmetry is the point of the product. Most of distribution readiness is controllable the same afternoon you measure it; the rest only accrues by shipping in public and letting the clock run. The meter tells you which is which.

Same-day update: after shipping the fixes above, the needle moved from 40 to 88. The last stretch to the green zone is the part money can't buy and code can't fake: an older domain and real reviews.

We'll keep re-scoring ourselves weekly and posting the needle here. Get your own score It's free, and the first look usually stings.
